Advertising Course-Basic
Knowledge
No matter how well a web-builder makes his website look, or how dynamic he makes
his page, it won't matter if the site can't be seen on the net. Effective advertising campaigns need to be used in
order to make that site viewable on the search engines. One effective method is forum posting, a second is social
networking, and a third is article submission. These examples are the most effective, free methods one can use.
Firstly, forum posting is one of the most effective methods of net-advertising because it provides a links system
to your web-content. For example, often times, you will be able to place a link in the heading under your screen
name so that when any member views your profile, they will automatically be able to see your link. This link is
usually just the link to the main page you operate on the web - ex, your web site, or blog, etc. Even still, this
provides an SEO (search engine optimization) boost as well. The reason for this is that forum sites are innately
popular, thus, the more links you put on them, the more popular they become when the are placed into search engine
directories.
Now, social networking is a favorite among many net-marketers. This will give the marketer the ability to directly
communicate with viewers. It allows them to get a better idea about how the business as a whole is affecting their
targeted range of viewers. However, there is a disadvantages of using social networking. Social networking doesn't
allow the marketer to see how it is affecting business negatively. Odds are, if there are a group of individuals
who don't enjoy the product or service, then there will be almost no way to find that out because they won't be
tied into the network. Some would argue that, that group is not important, but the opposite is the truth. If a
marketer doesn't know why viewers are staying away from that content, then the problem will grow, and in that case,
major loses can start to build up.
Lastly, article submission are one of the most effective methods for getting seen on the net. The backbone of the
net is knowledge, and that's what net-articles provide. A way to find out what new things are happening not just on
the internet, but in the physical world as well. This is why many physical businesses who haven't quite integrated
to the web yet, have newsletters that can be found on blogs, or other sites. They are effective in communicating
information to a targeted group; and a targeted group of viewers should always be what a marketer to strive to
gain.
On a final note, these methods combined will bring in the most targeted traffic. Targeted traffic is ultimately
what any web-marketer is looking to gain. Without targeted traffic, a marketer will only have impressions to a
website, and while impressions can be a good start, it generally fades away after so long. If one where to follow
the methods above, it is important to understand that constant updates should be posted. If not, then other sources
of information will then begin to out-way your sources of information. This is because, like impressions,
information that fades will gradually lose views, and the content will be then seen as being purposeless; and in
this case, the search engines will no longer have a need to keep that information posted either.
